FAQs

  • Savarin is for people who take food seriously — not in a pretentious way, but in the way that makes you the person your friends call when they need a restaurant recommendation. People who've planned a vacation around a reservation. People who want to know the story behind what's on their plate, not just what's on it.

We care deeply about the communities that make Chicago's restaurant scene extraordinary — the immigrant families behind the kitchens, the front of house staff who make a room feel alive. Anyone who can't extend that same respect won't be welcome here.

  • Every Savarin event includes something you couldn't have planned for yourself — and usually several things.

At a recent Thai dinner, we booked out Aroy. We took over the restaurant for the night—every seat was one of ours. Tee, the owner, came out to talk about his food, his restaurant, and what it meant to him to share it with us. His mom was in the kitchen making special dishes that don't exist anywhere on the regular menu, and she came out at the end of the night and got a standing ovation. The beer pairing was curated by Is/Was Brewing, and they used Thai ingredients like long peppers and holy basil in brewing the beers.

    That's a Savarin event.

  • Events are never marked up. If an event costs $150 per person to produce, that's exactly what you pay — not a dollar more. Your membership covers access to tickets, and we do not ever charge any premium on events.

Reserved members receive discounted pricing on select events.

  • Everything. Food, drink, taxes, fees, and gratuity. You show up, enjoy the experience, and leave. There's no additional spend at events.

  • We’ll announce events with enough lead time for you to plan—typically 3-4 weeks minimum. For really special events, you may get even more notice.

Reserved members get 48-hour early access to every ticket release. For our most intimate events — a chef's counter for ten, a limited reservation for 12 — that window is the difference between getting in and missing out.

  • Every member can bring one guest to any event. You can bring different guests to different events — no need to designate anyone for the year. Guest tickets are purchased at the same time as your own when you register for an event.

  • Event tickets are non-refundable, but we understand life happens. If you give us enough advance notice and we’re able to resell your spot, we will refund you (minus processing fees). The earlier you let us know, the better chance we can fill your seat.

  • It depends on the experience. Some events are intimate — ten or twelve people around a chef's counter where the chef is as much a part of the conversation as the food.

Others are larger, maybe thirty to forty people, when the experience calls for it. A whisky tasting with a master distiller? Intimate. A progressive meal through Lincoln Square's best Thai spots? We can bring more people along.
